My Kasi connects neighbours. Most people on here are honest, but a few simple rules keep you and your money safe. Read these before you pay anyone.
The golden rule: never pay a deposit, airtime or EFT before you have seen the room, the person or the work.
If you are looking or buying
- Always view the room or the service in person before you pay anything.
- Never pay a deposit, airtime or EFT before you have seen the place or met the person.
- Meet in a busy, public place during the day, and take someone with you.
- Ask for the full address privately on WhatsApp — never share your own address in a public post.
- Only trust the WhatsApp number shown on the listing. If someone sends you a different number, be careful.
- If the price is far below the others in the kasi, ask yourself why before you pay.
- Never send your ID, bank card photo or PIN to anyone on My Kasi.
- Agree the price and the work before the job starts.
If you are posting or selling
- Do not put your full street address in your listing. Use the area only, for example "Cosmo City Ext 2".
- Use one WhatsApp number for My Kasi and keep it on you.
- Meet people at the property or a public place — do not invite strangers into your home alone.
- Never hand over keys before you have been paid in full.
- For piece jobs, agree the pay and the hours before the work starts.
- Report anyone who asks you for a fee to be "approved" on My Kasi — we never charge you that.
- Take a photo of the room or the work so buyers know what they are getting.
- Keep your payment reference safe, for example KH-1234ABCD.
If something goes wrong
Stop
Do not pay anything else and do not share more details.
Save proof
Keep the chats, the payment proof and the listing name.
Tell us
Send it through the Support Center with the listing name and area.
